Dr. Alexander Pitzer studied law at the Philipps University of Marburg.

Doctorate in questions regarding the effective legal protection in cases of reports of (consumer) products in the official EU RAPEX rapid alert system.

Dr. Alexander Pitzer advises companies with regard to national and European Food Law and has particular expertise in the field of (food) consumer products and food contact materials, toys, textiles and other non-food consumer products. Another main focus of his legal activities is the risk assessment of food and consumer products as well as monitoring take-back and recall scenarios.

Dr. Alexander Pitzer is the author of several publications on Food and Consumer Goods Law and regularly gives lectures at relevant specialist events. He gives lectures on the issues of food contact materials within the context of the Food Law  Academy of the Research Centre for German and European Food and Feed Law at the Philipps University of Marburg.
