Food and feed law is a highly complex legal matter that is subject to continuous changes. This situation is aggravated by the fact that EU legislation and national legislation do not always go hand-in-hand, in some instances they even compete. The increasing public – and media – interest with regard to these product groups and general conditions of production makes it indispensable for companies to address and refer to these issues in a confident, systematic and well-planned manner. Companies, managers and employees need to be aware of the ever-increasing rigorous prosecution and sanctioning of legal infringements by the competent investigating authorities.
